Arm Stiffness
Arm stiffness — reduced ease of moving the arm or its joints — has many possible causes from muscle strain to neurologic conditions. The pattern often suggests the cause.

- Muscle strain or overuse

- Arthritis of shoulder, elbow, or wrist
- Rotator cuff problems
- Tendinitis
- Cervical spine problems referring to arm
- Parkinson's disease

When to See a Doctor
- Severe or progressive stiffness
- Associated weakness or numbness
- Significant impact on daily life
- Sudden onset (call 911 with other neurologic signs)
