Skin infections can be bacterial, viral, fungal, or parasitic. Most are minor and treatable; some can spread or become serious.

  • Cellulitis

  • Shingles, herpes simplex
  • Erysipelas

When to Seek Urgent Care

Rapidly spreading redness, severe pain, fever, dark or blistered skin — could be necrotizing fasciitis or severe cellulitis. Emergency.
