When to Seek Urgent Care
Seek urgent care for:
- Expanding redness with warmth and pain (cellulitis)
- Redness with fever
- Sudden widespread rash with blistering or sloughing
- Facial redness with eye involvement
- Hives with breathing difficulty (anaphylaxis — call 911)

- Sunburn
- Contact dermatitis (allergic or irritant)
- Eczema / atopic dermatitis
- Rosacea
- Psoriasis
- Hives (urticaria)
- Cellulitis
- Insect bites
- Viral exanthems
- Drug rashes
Self-Care
- Avoid known irritants and triggers
- Cool compresses
- Moisturizers for dryness
- Over-the-counter hydrocortisone for mild dermatitis (short term)
- Antihistamines for hives
