Carotid Artery Stenosis

Carotid artery stenosis is narrowing of the carotid arteries, increasing stroke risk. Most are detected when evaluating for stroke symptoms or as incidental findings.

  • Risk factor control (blood pressure, cholesterol, diabetes, smoking)
  • Antiplatelet therapy
  • Statin
  • Carotid endarterectomy or stenting for selected symptomatic patients
