Features
- Painful, easily-broken blisters and erosions
- Mouth involvement often appears first
- Genital, scalp, and skin involvement
- Nikolsky sign (skin separates with rubbing)
Treatment
- Corticosteroids (initial control)
- Rituximab (now first-line for many patients)
- Immunosuppressants (mycophenolate, azathioprine)
- IVIG and plasmapheresis in severe cases
- Wound care, nutritional support
