Paralysis
Paralysis is the loss of the ability to move some or all parts of the body, with or without sensory loss. Sudden paralysis is a medical emergency.

Causes
- Stroke
- Spinal cord injury
- Multiple sclerosis
- Bell's palsy (facial)
- Guillain-Barré syndrome
- Cerebral palsy
- ALS
- Severe nerve injury
- Polio (rare in vaccinated populations)
Treatment and Rehabilitation
- Emergency treatment of the underlying cause
- Physical therapy, occupational therapy
- Speech therapy if needed
- Assistive devices and home modifications
- Treatment of complications (skin, bladder, bowel, contractures)
