Sunburn
Sunburn is skin damage from ultraviolet (UV) radiation, usually from the sun. Beyond short-term discomfort, it accelerates skin aging and increases skin cancer risk.

Treatment
- Cool baths or compresses
- Aloe vera and moisturizers
- NSAIDs (ibuprofen) for pain and inflammation
- Adequate fluid intake
- Don't pop blisters
- Avoid further sun until healed
When to Seek Care
Seek medical care for severe sunburn with high fever, chills, dehydration, blistering over large areas, or signs of infection.
Prevention
- Broad-spectrum SPF 30+ sunscreen, reapplied every 2 hours
- Seek shade, especially 10 AM–4 PM
- Sun-protective clothing and wide-brimmed hat
- No tanning beds
- Be aware that UV exposure happens through clouds and reflective surfaces (water, sand, snow)
