Shoulder Dislocation
Shoulder dislocation occurs when the head of the upper arm bone (humerus) comes out of the shoulder socket. It is the most commonly dislocated joint due to its wide range of motion.

Symptoms
- Severe shoulder pain
- Visibly deformed shoulder
- Inability to move the arm
- Numbness or weakness
Treatment
- Closed reduction (relocating) — usually in the ER with sedation
- X-ray before and after
- Sling for a few weeks
- Physical therapy
- Surgical stabilization for recurrent dislocations
