Radial Tunnel Syndrome

Radial tunnel syndrome is compression of the radial nerve in the forearm, causing aching pain over the outer forearm. It can mimic tennis elbow but the pain is typically more diffuse and aching.

  • Pain worse with grasping or rotating the wrist
  • Forearm fatigue
  • Usually no significant weakness or numbness

Treatment

  • Activity modification
  • Anti-inflammatory medications
  • Splinting
  • Physical therapy
  • Steroid injections in some cases
  • Surgical decompression for refractory cases
