Dupuytren's Contracture
Dupuytren's contracture is a hand condition in which the fascia under the palm thickens and tightens, gradually pulling fingers (most often the ring and little fingers) into a bent position.

Symptoms
- Lump or nodule in the palm
- Thick cord-like tissue extending toward fingers
- Fingers progressively bend toward the palm
- Difficulty placing the hand flat
- Usually painless
Treatment
- Observation for mild disease
- Needle aponeurotomy (percutaneous needling of cords)
- Collagenase injection
- Surgical fasciectomy for severe contracture
- Hand therapy after intervention
