Bradycardia
Bradycardia is a resting heart rate below 60 beats per minute. It can be normal in well-conditioned athletes but may signal a heart conduction problem when symptomatic.

Causes
- Athletic conditioning (benign)
- Sleep
- Medications (beta-blockers, calcium channel blockers, digoxin)
- Hypothyroidism
- Sinus node dysfunction
- Heart block
- Heart attack
- Electrolyte abnormalities
Treatment
- None if asymptomatic and no underlying disease
- Treat underlying cause
- Adjust or discontinue contributing medications
- Pacemaker for symptomatic heart block or sinus node disease
